Dear Fellow Herkimer County Residents,

This is a difficult time for many. I assure you we have a terrific team working around the clock to reach out to those in need and respond to emergency situations. Among the many resources being assembled to manage this crisis, we are providing you with this web site as a central point for information and links to essential services.

I am confident we will get through this, thanks to the spirit and resilience of Herkimer County residents. In the mean time, I thank you for your courage and the support you are offering to each other.

We will continue to provide regular updates on the flooding situation.

NYS Flood Helpline: 1-888-769-7243 

Hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Weekends 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Governor Cuomo has ordered the activation of the NYS Flood Helpline to aid residents affected by widespread flooding across areas of New York State.  New Yorkers can call the helpline for recommendations from the NYS Department of Health, assistance in filing an insurance claim, what to do in case of an oil spill or power outage, mental health assistance, and for other recovery needs as well. LIFE THREATENING-EMERGENCIES SHOULD BE RESERVED FOR 911.
